DISCHARGING OPTIONS
Flat Bottom
This type of big bag is designed to be emptied by cutting open the bottom, making it the most cost-effective option, though it can only be used once. It is often used for packing waste that will be buried or burned along with the bag. In the construction industry, bags with a flat bottom are typically overturned for discharge
Spout Outlet
Is the standard option for emptying big bags. The range of the spout width
(diameter) ranges from 25 cm to 65 cm. The length of the spout should be
at least the value of the spout diameter. Standard length is 50cm.
For the outlet spout, there are three binding styles:
• Standard - tie sewn in the middle of the spout with a length of 60
cm
• Swan neck - twice folded and tied spout
• B-lock - plastic lock with a band placed on the outlet spout,
suitable for manual regulation of the material flow
Spout + Iris Closure
To protect the spout from damage during transportation and handling, an additional layer of protection can be added. Rosettes, made from lightweight fabric, are sewn onto the bag. When tied, these rosettes give the FIBC the appearance of having a flat bottom.
Spout + Star Closure
Star closure is a special type of rosette closure that is made from heavy fabric and looks like a star.
Double Drain Spout
A double spout can be used to protect the inner spout.
Skirts
Skirts are designed to fully open the bottom of a big bag, allowing the entire bottom to be exposed when the skirt is opened. Since the skirt alone cannot support much weight, it usually needs to be covered with a flap or a system similar to a star closure. Big bags with skirts at the bottom are ideal for materials that are challenging to empty through a spout, such as sawdust or peat.
Skirt + Flap
In this case, the flap primarily functions to support the weight of the bulk bag. It is constructed from heavy fabric, sewn to one side of the bottom, and secured with ties to the other three sides of the bag's base.
Skirt + Letter Discharge Spout
The rosette (letter) serves here as a skirt protection. It is made from heavy fabric, in the shape of a letter
Spout Outlet + Flap
The flap serves as a protective cover made from heavy fabric, designed to shield the bottom of a big bag from moisture. It is secured to the bottom of the FIBC with a band.
